Karen Foster is a naive artist currently based in Pomona, Qld,
but has lived in several differant states. She has been drawing and painting for the last 15 years. Sketching in markets, festivals on trains and beaches.
Her works are whimsical, and capture the energy and emotions of everyday life. Major influences include Chagall, Van Gogh, Rousseau, Goya.
Musicians are her favourite subject. Karen goes to see live bands so that she can sketch in time to music. The sketches are then painted
in oils, and Karen tries to recapture that energy that moment in time when the musician is playing.
Karens main goal is to use art as an inspiration, to make people laugh, to encourage people to create, and lastly as a thankyou to those tireless musicians who fill the world with their magic sounds.
